
New Delhi, April 2 Crude oil prices rose by ₹689 to ₹9,228 per barrel in futures trading on Thursday, as the escalating conflict in West Asia is causing severe disruptions in energy supply.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for May delivery traded higher by ₹689, or 8.07%, at ₹9,228 per barrel in 5,930 lots.
Analysts said the increased participation in the market kept crude oil prices high in the futures market.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 8.23% higher at USD 108.53 per barrel, while Brent crude rose 7.99% to USD 109.24 per barrel in New York.
