
New Delhi, February 19 Crude oil prices rose by Rs 38 to Rs 5,951 per barrel in futures trading on Thursday, as participants increased their positions in response to strong spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for March delivery traded higher by Rs 38, or 0.64 per cent, at Rs 5,951 per barrel in 7,186 lots.
Analysts said the increased activity by participants kept crude oil prices elevated in the futures market.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was trading 0.26 per cent higher at USD 65.36 per barrel, while Brent crude rose 0.17 per cent to USD 70.47 per barrel in New York.
