
April 10, Moscow — The Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre (JNCC), under the Embassy of India, Moscow, hosted the private opening of “India: Three Perspectives” at the Ilya Glazunov Gallery.
Three Russian artists — Konstantin Poliakov (Gandi), Shanti Kushwaha, and Larisa Prasolova — presented their unique artistic interpretations of India, each shaped by their personal experiences and deep engagement with the country.
Vinay Kumar, the Ambassador of India to Russia, inaugurated the exhibition. In an exclusive conversation with DD, he said that this exhibition features three Russian painters depicting Indian themes. Organized by the JNCC, the annual cultural events will further strengthen cultural relations between the two countries. It gives the Russian audience an opportunity to connect with India through these paintings. It will also help build tourism, and those studying India will also find inspiration.
The event was also addressed by Elena Stupanskaya, Deputy Secretary General of the Russian Association for International Cooperation, and Elena Zhelnova, Head of the Exhibition Department at the Ilya Glazunov Art Gallery.
The evening included a tour of the exhibition led by the artists and an Indian buffet reception. Madhurkankana Roy, Director, JNCC, proposed the vote of thanks.
