Hyderabad, March 17 Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla emphasized the importance of staying connected to culture on Tuesday, citing a Hindi poem by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Speaking at pre-Ugadi (Telugu New Year) celebrations held at Lok Bhavan here, he recalled Vajpayee's famous lines, "No one can become great with a narrow mind, and no one can stand tall with a broken heart."
"We stay connected to our culture. Our culture will make us great," Shukla said.
Earlier, delivering his speech in Telugu, he extended greetings on the occasion of Ugadi, which falls on March 19.
He expressed hope that the new Telugu New Year, named 'Paraabhava', would bring health and happiness to all.
