
March 08, Cuttack – The High Court of Orissa and the Odisha State Legal Services Authority observed International Women's Day at Bellview Square in Cuttack.
On this occasion, a human chain was formed at Bellview Square by judicial officers from the Registry of the High Court of Orissa, the Odisha Judicial Academy, the Odisha State Legal Services Authority, Civil Courts Cuttack, District Legal Services Authority Cuttack, and the Permanent Lok Adalat Cuttack, along with their staff. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about women's empowerment and the socio-economic and legal rights of women. Students from The Law College Cuttack also participated in the event.
Manash Ranjan Pathak, Judge of the High Court of Orissa and Executive Chairman of the Odisha State Legal Services Authority, and Krushna Ram Mohapatra, Judge of the High Court of Orissa and Chairman of the High Court Legal Services Committee, along with other judges of the High Court and their spouses, were present at the event.
The event highlighted that societal development can be achieved through women's empowerment and their inclusive participation. It also emphasized that society stands in support of women to enable them to assert their rights recognized under the law.
The program was organized under the supervision of the Registrar General of the High Court of Orissa and the Member Secretary of the Odisha State Legal Services Authority. The Collector of Cuttack, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Cuttack, the Commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation, and officers and staff of the local administration extended their support for the successful organization of the event.
