
Bhubaneswar, March 12 The Odisha Vigilance Department arrested a tahsildar on Thursday for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, an official said.
The tahsildar from Kantapara in Cuttack district will be produced before the court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, on charges of possessing disproportionate assets, he said.
During a raid conducted on Wednesday, the officer was found to be in possession of disproportionate assets, including two multi-story buildings and seven high-value plots in Bhubaneswar, the department said in a release.
A case has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, it said.
Further investigation is underway.
