Dairy Giant Amul Exceeds Rs 100 Crore Milestone.webp

New Delhi, April 5 The dairy giant Amul announced on Sunday that its total turnover rose by 11 percent in the last fiscal year, reaching the Rs 1 lakh crore milestone due to increased demand for dairy products.

In a statement, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) said that the Amul brand's total turnover exceeded Rs 1 lakh crore for the fiscal year 2025-26.

"The total, unduplicated revenue of the Amul brand increased by 11 percent, based on a revenue of Rs 90,000 crore in 2024-25," it added.

The turnover of GCMMF, which sells products under the Amul brand, grew by 11.4 percent to Rs 73,450 crore last fiscal, compared to Rs 65,911 crore in the previous fiscal year.

"This growth is driven by a wide product portfolio of over 1,200 product packs, a vast distribution network, and the ability to quickly adapt to the evolving needs of modern consumers," GCMMF said.

The 18 district cooperatives in their respective districts sell products under the Amul brand. The turnovers of these 18 district cooperatives are not included in GCMMF's revenue.

Ashokbhai Chaudhary, Chairman of GCMMF, said, "Reaching a brand turnover of Rs 1 lakh crore is a testament to the trust of millions of consumers and the tireless hard work of our 36 lakh dairy farmers."

Gordhanbhai Dhameliya, Vice Chairman of GCMMF, said, "Our journey to the Rs 1 lakh crore milestone is a definitive victory for the spirit of cooperation. By scaling our model nationally, we are proving that the 'Amul Model' is a timeless blueprint for economic democracy."

Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF, is not just expanding operations globally, but is also redefining what a farmer-owned institution can achieve in the modern world.

"We are ensuring that the benefits of technology and global trade reach the producers," Mehta said.

GCMMF is the world's largest farmer-owned dairy cooperative, with 3.6 million farmers, responsible for marketing Amul milk and milk products across more than 50 countries.

It collects 31 million liters of milk every day and distributes annually over 24 billion packs of Amul products, which include milk, butter, cheese, ghee, and ice cream, among others.
