Mumbai, March 19 Rising star Anahat Singh continued her dominant run with a straight-game victory, while Egypt's Ibrahim Elkabbani defeated top seed Yahya Elnawasany in one of the biggest upsets at the Indian Open squash tournament here on Thursday.

Anahat, the top seed in the women's category, maintained control throughout her singles match, combining precision and consistency to defeat Farida Walid of Egypt 3-0.

The most exciting matches came from the Egyptian duo of Elkabbani and Mohamed Sharaf, both of whom emerged victorious in closely contested five-game matches.

Elkabbani achieved a major upset, defeating Elnawasany 3-2 in a 66-minute battle. Sharaf also won against Hong Kong's Chi Him Wong in another thrilling five-setter match.

India's Abhay Singh produced a clinical performance to defeat Matthew Lai of Hong Kong. Despite a tight start, Abhay found his rhythm and dominated proceedings to secure a commanding 3-0 victory.

Tanvi Khanna impressed with a composed and confident display against Egypt's Nour Khafagy. While Khafagy put up a strong fight in each game, Khanna maintained her composure to secure a 3-0 victory.

Veer Chotrani established his dominance early, racing ahead before an unfortunate retirement from Omlor ended the match prematurely.

Veteran Joshna Chinappa showcased her class and composure, defeating Breanne Flynn in a hard-fought four-game match.

Despite a spirited effort, Velavan Senthilkumar put up a strong fight in each game but ultimately lost to a composed Ameeshenraj Chandaran. Ramit Tandon showed glimpses of his potential, but was defeated by Duncan Lee in a closely contested straight-game match.
