Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Mini Secretariat in Shopian to assess the progress of Smart Meter installation and works under the RDSS (Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme). During the meeting, discussions were held on the pace of Smart Meter installation and the mobilization of field staff to improve progress under the initiative.
Shopian, February 27: Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Mini Secretariat in Shopian to assess the progress of Smart Meter installation and works under the RDSS (Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme).
During the meeting, discussions were held on the pace of Smart Meter installation and the mobilization of field staff to improve progress under the initiative.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned agencies involved in the project execution to expedite the pace while reviewing progress on a feeder-by-feeder basis, emphasizing strict monitoring and regular field inspections.
Gupta also reviewed the progress of works under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). He was informed that nearly 85% of the works under the scheme have been completed so far, making significant progress in strengthening the power infrastructure.
He emphasized the importance of close coordination among stakeholders for achieving desired results in the power sector upgrade.
Highlighting the importance of the Suriya Ghar scheme, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the need to promote rooftop solar installation and ensure maximum beneficiary coverage in the district.
