New Delhi, April 2 The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has partnered with INTACH to conduct a comprehensive survey of historic structures across the Delhi Ridge.
Spanning 8,000 acres, the Delhi Ridge is divided into four zones – the Northern Ridge, the Southern Ridge, the Central Ridge, and the South Central Ridge area.
"An MoU was signed today between DDA and INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) to undertake comprehensive documentation of historic structures across the Delhi Ridge," a DDA official said.
The initiative will include listing and classification, the development of heritage trails, the installation of signage, and other measures aimed at preserving and promoting Delhi's rich heritage, he added.
In the past, some heritage structures have been identified in parts of the Northern Ridge near the North Campus of the University of Delhi. The survey is expected to uncover more such structures in other parts of the ridge area.
