
New Delhi, April 2 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed the passage of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026, by Parliament as a significant step towards making life and doing business easier in the country.
He expressed his "immense delight" at the Parliament's approval of the Bill.
"This Bill strengthens a trust-based framework that empowers our citizens. It marks the end of outdated rules and regulations," the Prime Minister posted on X.
He also added that the Bill ensures the speedy disposal of cases and reduces the burden of litigation through decriminalization.
"What is also noteworthy is the consultative approach with which this Bill was drafted," he said, praising those who contributed their insights for drafting the Bill and supported it in Parliament.
Parliament passed the Bill on Thursday to amend 784 provisions in 79 central laws, aimed at decriminalizing and rationalizing minor offenses to further improve the business environment and prevent harassment.
