Defence Minister Leads Discussions on Energy Security.webp

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that the government is closely monitoring the situation and is committed to protecting the Indian people from any adverse effects of the conflict. He made this statement while chairing a meeting of an informal group of ministers in New Delhi on Saturday, which included several senior ministers. The meeting was convened to review the risks to energy supplies, the availability of essential commodities domestically, the resilience and robustness of India's supply chains, and critical infrastructure in the context of the ongoing conflict in West Asia. In a social media post, the minister mentioned that the meeting involved in-depth discussions on all the measures being taken by the government. The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Power Minister Manohar Lal, and Health Minister J.P. Nadda, among others.
