April 03, New Delhi: In an unprecedented move during wartime, U.S. Army Chief of Staff Randy George was dismissed on Thursday by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The Pentagon confirmed that George, who had more than a year remaining in his term as the 41st Chief of Staff of the Army, will retire effective immediately.
Hegseth, a former Fox News host, has been moving quickly to reshape the Pentagon’s senior leadership, and the firing of a general during active conflict marks a rare and significant action.
