Dehradun, March 16 A 26-year-old woman, the mother of a two-year-old child, was found dead here on Monday, suspected to be due to drug abuse, officials said.
They said the body was found in a dilapidated room in the Raipur area of Dehradun, and preliminary investigations revealed that the woman was addicted to drugs and had died a day earlier.
Shivani Arora, a resident of Ambiwala in Dehradun, was married to a man who is also a drug addict. He is currently at a de-addiction center in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The couple had a two-year-old child, police said.
Police said that Shivani's family members revealed that she suffered from drug addiction and had been admitted to a rehabilitation center on multiple occasions. She had last left the rehabilitation center in Haridwar just 15 days ago.
While the apparent cause of death appears to be substance abuse, the exact cause will only be revealed after the post-mortem report, police said.
