Dehradun, March 20 A speeding car crashed into several vehicles before smashing through the gate of a house in the Dalanwala area of Dehradun, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to two others, police said on Friday.
The accused, Guneet Singh (43), a resident of Inder Road, has been arrested.
According to reports, at around 8 pm on Thursday, the speeding car first collided with another four-wheeler near the DL Cut, and then struck a scooter and a motorcycle, causing severe damage to both vehicles.
The police reported that the scooter rider, Rahul, along with the motorcycle riders, Rohit Phillips (48) and his son, Anuj Phillips (22), residents of Old Survey Road, sustained serious injuries.
The injured were immediately admitted to a hospital, where Rohit succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
According to the police, Singh was driving the car at such a high speed that even after colliding with three vehicles, it did not slow down and smashed through the gate of a residence on Old Survey Road, and struck another scooter and a car parked within the compound, causing damage to those vehicles as well.
The car has been impounded, and the driver is being interrogated, police added.
