Delhi Experiences Rainfall, IMD Issues Warning.webp

March 19, New Delhi – As parts of the Delhi-NCR experienced rainfall on Wednesday, it brought a change in weather conditions along with a drop in temperatures.

The India Meteorological Department said the change in weather is part of a short wet spell expected to continue until March 21.

Day temperatures are expected to remain in the 27–31°C range, offering continued relief from the intense heat seen earlier this month when temperatures exceeded 35°C.

A yellow alert is in place for March 19 and March 20, with the IMD warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds.

Similar weather patterns are being observed across north and northeast India. The IMD has forecast widespread rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across several states.

Heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, while the western Himalayan region – including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir – may experience intense showers over the next two to three days.

Hailstorm activity is also possible in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
