New Delhi, March 10 The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday targeted the BJP-led central government, claiming a "deepening" LPG supply crisis, with party chief Arvind Kejriwal saying the situation could worsen in the coming days.
Attacking Prime Minister Modi over the crisis amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia, Kejriwal alleged the government's silence and submission to US President Donald Trump.
Across the country, except for educational institutions and hospitals, LPG gas supply has been stopped for all other commercial establishments. Gas will now be supplied only for domestic use, Kejriwal posted on X.
In the coming days, the situation regarding gas and oil is likely to worsen further, he claimed.
"PM Modi is bowing before Trump due to certain compulsions. Is the country now paying the price for that?" Kejriwal said in his post.
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said till four days ago, "government sources" were claiming that there was no shortage of LPG in the country.
Now the government is invoking the Essential Commodities Act to control gas. Refineries are being ordered to divert gas supplies and the booking time for domestic cylinders has also been extended to 25 days, he added.
Sisodia said the war in West Asia has now reached India's kitchens and is affecting livelihoods.
Dhabas, hotels, restaurants and lakhs of small businesses are struggling due to the shortage of commercial gas, he said.
