New Delhi, March 24 A major fire broke out at a plywood warehouse in Delhi's Bawana area on Tuesday, according to a Delhi Fire Services official.

The DFS received a call about the fire around 3:55 am, and several fire tenders were rushed to the warehouse in Sector-2 of the Bawana Industrial Area.

A firefighter sustained minor injuries during the operation, the official said.

"Initially, three water tenders, two water bowsers, and a quick response vehicle were deployed. As the flames spread rapidly due to combustible material stored inside the premises, additional units were brought in gradually," the official said.

During the operation, fire officer Prashant sustained minor injuries to his hand and was taken to a nearby hospital, he said.

"He received first aid and was later discharged. Teams are working to extinguish the fire," he added.
