New Delhi, April 6 The Delhi government will develop artworks, including a Ramayana-themed mural, at six flyovers in the city as part of an urban beautification drive, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday.
The initiative, undertaken through corporate social responsibility partnerships, aims to transform underutilized spaces beneath six flyovers into clean, organized, and visually engaging public zones, she said.
The project is being executed in collaboration with EaseMyTrip Foundation, Godrej Industries Group, and Dalmia Bharat Limited. The flyover revamp work will include landscaped green areas, artistic wall paintings, improved sanitation systems, seating facilities, and essential public-use infrastructure, she added.
According to the plan, Dalmia Bharat Limited will undertake the Oberoi flyover, the Lodhi flyover, and the Mangi bridge stretch situated on Ring Road near Hanuman Temple before Kashmere Gate ISBT.
"At Mangi Setu, a large Ramayana-themed visual journey will also be showcased through murals. EaseMyTrip Foundation will redevelop the Apsara Border flyover stretch, from the MCD toll tax booth to the UP border, and the Mayur Vihar Phase-1 flyover," officials said.
Godrej Industries Group will develop the Netaji Subhash Place flyover stretch from Ring Road to the NSP Metro station.
The chief minister said that spaces underneath flyovers will feature green zones, murals, seating arrangements, improved sanitation systems, and other civic amenities, helping them evolve into recognizable urban landmarks.
"The government is working closely with the private sector to accelerate public welfare projects and enhance the city's overall infrastructure. The goal is to transform these spaces into attractive, functional, and citizen-friendly urban zones," Gupta said.
PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh said that the project is a meaningful step towards reshaping Delhi's urban infrastructure.
