New Delhi, April 8 Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said on Wednesday that a policy is being developed to ensure that city residents do not face water scarcity.

In a post on X, Sirsa said, "An important meeting was held at the Delhi Secretariat with senior officials from relevant departments regarding the new 'Borewell and Groundwater Extraction Policy'."

He said Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has issued clear directions to simplify water-related arrangements in the national capital and ensure that people do not face difficulties in accessing drinking water.

"Our government is actively working on the policy to make this process easier, so that people do not have to face difficulties for drinking water," Sirsa added in his post.

"Our resolve is to eliminate illegal systems in Delhi," he said.
