New Delhi, April 9 The Delhi government is preparing to launch e-District 2.0, an updated AI-based platform for faster and more efficient delivery of citizen services, officials said on Thursday.
The updated version may also offer an increased number of services. The existing e-District facility offers 453 services related to various departments, they said.
The new portal will feature an AI-enabled chatbot to answer citizens' queries and ensure efficient handling of applications. The government is also exploring the use of blockchain technology for enhanced data security and transparency, a senior official said.
e-District provides a comprehensive, integrated solution for various services accessed through this portal. It also provides online verification of various certificates issued by multiple departments.
User documents are permanently stored in the database and can be accessed repeatedly while using the online facility.
The e-District 2.0 website will have an improved, user-friendly interface, faster processing, adherence to timelines, and better backend integration, the official said.
As part of the e-governance initiative, the Delhi government has also expanded the Common Service Centres (CSCs) to 7,000 across the city.
These centers are providing 75 key e-District services, such as issuing caste, birth, death, and income certificates, as well as other documents, to people in their neighborhoods.
