New Delhi, April 2 The national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius on Thursday, 2.8 degrees above the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department.

The minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 18.9 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has predicted thunderstorms with rain on Friday night and Saturday.

Delhi's air quality was 'moderate' at 7 pm on Thursday, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 189, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). It was 167 at 9 am.

The CPCB classifies an AQI between zero and 50 as 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 as 'severe'.
