New Delhi, March 27 Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited a temple in Model Town in north Delhi on the occasion of Ram Navami, and reminisced about his student days at Delhi University, which he spent in the area, during an impromptu visit to the locality, officials said on Friday.

The LG offered prayers at the temple on Thursday, seeking the blessings of Lord Ram, according to an official statement.

Sandhu then toured the nearby market and streets, recalling the area's connection to his student days at St Stephen's College, Delhi University.

The LG also sampled street food, including "chaat" and "bhalla," and interacted with local residents and shopkeepers, many of whom were surprised by the LG's impromptu visit.

Sandhu also inquired about civic issues, stating that direct feedback from citizens is valuable for guiding government agencies, the statement said.

Later, Sandhu took the Delhi Metro from Model Town to Vishwavidyalaya.
