
New Delhi, March 31 Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav met Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Tuesday and raised a range of issues, including unemployment and infrastructure gaps.
Yadav urged the LG to intervene in addressing what he described as "pressing problems" affecting residents.
According to an official statement by the party, Yadav demanded a revision in the circle rate of agricultural land in Delhi's rural areas, demanding it be increased from around Rs 53 lakh to Rs 10 crore per acre.
"Yadav expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi, increasing crimes against women, open firing, kidnapping and unchecked drug trade at every corner," the statement read.
The party leader raised issues of water scarcity, air pollution, desilting of drains, waterlogging and poor road conditions.
The LG assured that the issues raised would be examined, the statement read.
The Congress leader criticised the demolition of slum clusters without rehabilitation and sought clarity on plans for unauthorised colonies and resettlement areas.
