New Delhi, March 29 Delhi Lt Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited Connaught Place on Sunday as part of his direct, informal outreach, and interacted with people from diverse backgrounds on a range of issues and potential solutions.
During the visit, Sandhu fondly revisited his personal memories of Connaught Place's iconic culinary heritage, as he stopped for a milkshake at the famous Keventers outlet and savored "kadhi chawal" at the popular Jain Chawal Wale, the official X account of Lok Niwas Delhi, run by the LG Secretariat, said in a post.
It also shared pictures of Sandhu's visit to the commercial hub in the heart of the national capital.
Standing alongside regular patrons, the Lt Governor shared his meal, engaging with them on issues related to livelihoods, careers, aspirations, and everyday challenges, officials said.
He also assessed the situation on the ground, noting the sanitation and traffic conditions in different parts of the area.
While interacting with the public, Sandhu sought their views on addressing civic issues and stressed that governance must be people-centric, with solutions emerging from the grassroots.
He asserted the need for a "bottom-up" approach to governance, as opposed to a "top-down" model.
Sandhu, who assumed office earlier this month, has undertaken similar outreach visits in several parts of the city, including Model Town, Vasant Vihar, Chittaranjan Park, and Red Fort.
