Delhi Metro Incident: Girl Injured Due to Exam Stress.webp

New Delhi, March 13 A school student sustained injuries after she jumped onto metro tracks at the Dwarka Sector-14 metro station on Friday afternoon, apparently due to stress related to her board examinations, an official said.

Metro staff and commuters at the station immediately alerted authorities after noticing the girl on the tracks, following which she was quickly pulled out and provided medical assistance.

According to the police, a PCR call regarding the incident was received around 12:58 pm. A police team rushed to the station and found that the girl had already been rescued and shifted to the emergency ward of Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka, where she is currently undergoing treatment.

In her statement to the police, the girl said she had been under severe stress due to her ongoing board examinations and jumped onto the tracks because of the pressure.

Police said the girl was conscious when she was admitted to the hospital and had sustained injuries on both her knees.

The police have recorded the girl's statement and informed her family members. Further inquiry into the incident is underway, they added.
