
New Delhi, March 19 A 22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly being involved in the killing of a man in northwest Delhi's Jahangir Puri earlier this month, in a group rivalry, police said on Thursday.
Firdaus, a local resident also known as "Chumma," had been on the run since the murder on March 4.
According to police, Firdaus, along with an associate, allegedly opened fire at a rival group, killing a man identified as Rehmatullah, also known as "Bhola."
On Wednesday evening, police laid a trap near Bhalaswa Lake and apprehended Firdaus around 6 pm.
During interrogation, Firdaus allegedly confessed to his involvement in the crime, stating that he, along with an associate, had carried out the shooting to settle a score with the rival group.
According to police, Firdaus has a previous record involving a theft case and comes from a family with a criminal background.
He had been changing locations to evade arrest since the incident.
