Delhi Police Review Viral Video of Alleged Religious Conversion.webp

New Delhi, March 26 A viral video of a woman alleging religious conversion in outer Delhi was examined by the Delhi Police, which described the clip as "unsubstantiated," an official said on Thursday.

The Delhi Police said that no communal angle has been found in connection with the viral video from the Nihal Vihar area of outer Delhi, adding that the allegations of religious conversion made by the woman in the clip were unsubstantiated.

The woman seen in the video has been identified as a resident of Nihal Vihar, police said.

An inquiry into the matter was conducted by the station house officer (SHO) concerned after the video surfaced on social media.

During the inquiry, it was found that a total of 14 families, including nine Hindu families and five Muslim families, reside in the street where the woman also lives.

"No member of any Hindu family has reported any grievance against any Muslim family in the locality," a senior police officer said.

The police further said that the woman had been making allegations related to religious conversion for the past 15 to 16 months. However, all such claims were examined and found to be without any basis.

"The allegations levelled by the woman regarding forced religious conversion are unsubstantiated," the officer added.

The police said that the situation in the area remains peaceful and no complaint suggesting communal tension has been received so far.
