New Delhi, March 24 The Delhi Traffic Police has ensured largely smooth and regulated vehicular movement in and around the Jhandewalan Temple area during the ongoing Chaitra Navratri festival, an official said on Tuesday.
The temple, one of the prominent religious sites in the city, witnesses a massive influx of devotees during Navratri every year.
"This year, the number of visitors has surged significantly, especially during weekends and peak hours. The traffic police implemented a comprehensive management plan, which included the advance deployment of personnel, strategic route diversions, strict parking regulations, and continuous monitoring on the ground," the Delhi Traffic Police officer said.
As part of the arrangements, heavy vehicles were diverted from key congestion points such as Kalka Das Chowk and the Rani Jhansi Road roundabout, which helped ease traffic pressure in the surrounding areas.
"These measures ensured minimal inconvenience to commuters while facilitating smooth and orderly movement for devotees visiting the temple," he added.
Devotees have been advised to use designated pedestrian pathways and avoid walking on the main carriageway for their safety and to help maintain traffic discipline.
