Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, February 18 A local voluntary organization has demanded the establishment of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
The organization, led by Ritesh Mishra, has made this request.
There are 456 affiliated colleges in the region that provide education to over 4 lakh students. The city has received an investment of nearly Rs 1 lakh crore, which will create jobs for 2 lakh people. Despite this, the city lacks an IIT campus here, it stated in a press release.
The IIT will help prevent the migration of talented students from the state, it said.
