Deoria (UP), April 2 A 19-year-old woman, who was scheduled to get married in May, was found dead in the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, with villagers suspecting that she was murdered.
Police said the body was found lying on the ground near a hut, while a cloth noose was seen hanging inside the hut in the Baraon Dih village.
Villagers quickly gathered at the scene, with many expressing concern that the woman may have been killed.
Police said the woman's father lives in the neighboring Gorakhpur district, where he works as a vegetable vendor.
Family members said the woman was scheduled to get married in May.
Circle Officer Hariram Yadav said the exact cause of death will only be known after a thorough investigation.
