
Jaipur, February 17 A 35-year-old dermatologist working at a government hospital in Kekri, Ajmer, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his official residence on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased, identified as Dr. Ashok Kumar Meena, was a resident of the Tonk district. He had been working at the hospital for the past year, according to sources.
Dr. Meena's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his official residence on Tuesday. Hospital staff broke open the door after repeated knocks went unanswered, police said.
He had taken sick leave on Monday and was scheduled to report to the hospital at 2 pm on Tuesday, but he did not. When repeated calls went unanswered, the hospital staff went to his residence.
Earlier in the day, Dr. Meena had posted a WhatsApp status stating: "Patients will not be seen, please avoid unnecessary calls."
The body was taken down and shifted to the hospital mortuary for post-mortem. The police are investigating the matter.
