
POONCH, FEBRUARY 25: A Block Diwas program was held in Lassana, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, as part of the ongoing public outreach initiative.
The meeting was attended by officers from key departments, including Revenue, Health, Education, Jal Shakti (Water Resources), Rural Development, and PDD (Power Department), as well as residents of Lassana and surrounding areas. Issues raised included road connectivity, healthcare, educational infrastructure, drinking water supply, MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) works, and electricity services.
The Deputy Commissioner listened attentively to the public and directed concerned officers to promptly and effectively address genuine grievances. He emphasized accountability, close monitoring, and the submission of reports detailing actions taken within specified timeframes.
Special instructions were issued to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply during the holy month of Ramadan, particularly during Sehri (pre-dawn meal) and Iftaar (evening meal) hours.
The program concluded with the immediate resolution of several issues, while remaining issues were assigned for timely action.
