
Saharanpur (UP), March 14 Yogi Adityanath reviewed development works in the Saharanpur district on Saturday and offered prayers at the revered Shakumbhari Devi temple, wishing for the welfare of the public.
According to an official statement, the chief minister visited the temple complex and inspected the ongoing tourism development project there.
During the visit, he reviewed the progress of various facilities being developed under the tourism corridor project, including a souvenir shop, toilet block, tourist facilitation centre, and a multi-level parking facility.
Adityanath later offered prayers with Vedic chants at the Bhuradev temple and the Shakumbhari Devi Siddhpeeth temple.
While inspecting the projects, the chief minister directed officials to ensure that development works are completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality standards.
He also instructed that projects scheduled for completion in October be finished by Sharadiya Navratri. The construction of an elevated road between the temples Bhuradev and Shakumbhari Devi should also be completed at the earliest, he said.
He also held a meeting on preparations for the upcoming Chaitra Navratri fair at the temple, scheduled to begin on March 19, and directed officials to pay attention to security, cleanliness, and overall arrangements.
The chief minister instructed that the entire fair area be covered with CCTV cameras and that anti-Romeo squads remain active to ensure the safety of visitors. He also asked officials to counsel personnel deployed at the fair to maintain courteous behavior and ensure security without discrimination.
Adityanath further directed authorities to keep the fair premises plastic-free and to launch awareness drives to maintain cleanliness. He asked officials to ensure proper crowd management, availability of separate toilets for men and women, and the supply of clean drinking water and quality food and prasad without adulteration for devotees.
The CM also instructed that parking charges be fixed at reasonable rates and that verification of e-rickshaw drivers, auto operators, and shopkeepers be carried out, while government welfare schemes should be publicised through hoardings, exhibitions, and LED vehicles at the fair.
Senior BJP leaders, along with local legislators, officials of the administration, and BJP functionaries, were present during the inspection.
