Indore, March 19 Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu will inaugurate the renovated terminal building of Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport on March 24 via video conference, officials said on Thursday.

With the commissioning of the additional terminal building, the annual passenger capacity of this busy airport in central India will increase to 50 lakh, they added.

"The airport's old terminal building has been renovated at a cost of Rs 50 crore and has been named 'T-1'. With the inauguration of this facility, the number of terminal buildings at the airport will increase to two. The current terminal building can handle 40 lakh passengers every year. The additional terminal building will increase the figure by 10 lakh," Indore Lok Sabha MP Shankar Lalwani told reporters.

Naidu will also inaugurate the Udaan Yatri Cafe, an initiative of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which will provide affordable food and beverages to passengers at the airport, he said.

The cafe will offer passengers a bottle of water for Rs 10, tea for Rs 10, poha for Rs 20, and samosas for Rs 20, he added.

Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport handles over 100 flights daily, including 92 scheduled passenger flights.
