Dhanbad/Latehar, March 12 Civil courts in the Dhanbad and Latehar districts of Jharkhand received bomb threat emails on Thursday, prompting security agencies to conduct searches that found no explosive materials, police said.
The threats were sent to the official email addresses of the courts, prompting the police to launch search operations with the help of bomb disposal and dog squads, they said.
In Dhanbad, the email claimed that multiple "cyanide bombs" had been planted in the court premises.
"We conducted a thorough search for two hours, but no explosive material has been found so far. Security has been tightened inside and around the court," SP (Dhanbad City) Ritvik Shrivastav said.
Police, along with the technical and cyber cell, are analyzing the source of the email, he said.
The Dhanbad Civil Court had also received bomb threats in February, officials said.
Meanwhile, the official email address of the Latehar Civil Court received an email around 10 am, warning that its premises would be blown up, a senior police officer said.
DSP Sanjeev Mishra said an intensive search operation was carried out in the court premises, but no suspicious object was found.
