Diplomacy Focused on Iran, Ukraine at G7 Summit.webp

March 26, New Delhi: Foreign ministers from G7 nations will meet in France this week amid ongoing conflicts in Iran and Ukraine.

The two-day meeting at Vaux-de-Cernay Abbey in Paris brings together officials seeking clarity on U.S. and Israeli military operations in Iran and possible diplomatic channels to end the conflict.

Making his first trip abroad since the war began, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will join fellow diplomats on the second day. The talks will also address the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has effectively closed, affecting about a fifth of global oil supplies.

In an effort to broaden the scope of the G7, France also invited foreign ministers from Brazil and India, as well as Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea.
