Mumbai, February 21 – Filmmaker Suman Ghosh has wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming drama, "Familywala," and, to mark the occasion, he decided to write a heartfelt note to his lead actor, Shiboprosad Mukherjee.
Praising Shiboprosad, he described their collaboration as a "powerful combination."
Suman posted photographs from the first and last days of the shoot, and reflecting on their journey together, he wrote, "These two photos are from the first and last days of the shoot of Familywala, respectively. They succinctly tell the story of our director-actor relationship. As Shibu says, 'A powerful combination.'"
He further revealed that his admiration for Shiboprosad dates back decades. "Ever since I watched Rituparno Ghosh's Bariwali, where Shibu played a small role, I was impressed by him," the director confessed.
Calling the experience "absolutely delightful," Suman added, "I constantly challenged him as an actor to see how far he could go – it was almost like a game between us. His range of acting, his unpredictable reactions, his improvisations, and his intensity took the script to a new level. That is what pleases a director the most."
Now that the film is complete, Suman admitted that he will miss their creative exchanges and Shiboprosad's humor on set.
"Ultimately, it's up to the audience to decide. I hope you all will enjoy our Familywala," he concluded.
In response, Shiboprosad said, "The film that Suman Ghosh is making for Windows' 25th anniversary has a truly unique concept – something different and extraordinary. It conveys an idea that the audience will experience in a very powerful way."
Sharing that he feels extremely fortunate to be a part of this project, he added, "Through it, I had the opportunity to connect with one of the most important characters in my journey – someone who supported me and placed their trust in me. For that, I am deeply grateful."
