
Patna, March 18 The district administration in Patna, Bihar, stated on Wednesday that all distributors and gas companies have sufficient stock of LPG cylinders.
District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S M held a meeting with councillors from all 75 wards of the Patna Municipal Corporation on Wednesday to review the availability and supply of LPG cylinders.
"Patna has 136 gas agencies serving 16,65,360 consumers. All distributors and gas companies have adequate stock of LPG," he told reporters here.
According to a statement issued by the district administration, an average of 33,604 bookings were being recorded daily, while the number of LPG cylinders received from gas companies per day is 32,603.
Enforcement drives are also being carried out to prevent the misuse of domestic LPG, the DM said.
A restaurant in Danapur was recently sealed for allegedly using domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes, a district official said.
The DM instructed officials to take strict action against those involved in black marketing, hoarding, or overpricing of LPG cylinders.
He also urged residents not to resort to panic booking.
