The Jammu District Administration has imposed a ban on the transportation of bovine animals from Jammu to other districts.
According to an order issued by District Magistrate Rakesh Minhas, the transportation of bovine animals, including cows, buffaloes, oxen, bulls, and calves, has been prohibited with immediate effect.
The order has been issued under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which empowers district authorities to take preventive measures in the interest of public order.
However, the administration has clarified that the movement of bovine animals may be allowed in specific cases with prior written permission from the District Magistrate or Additional District Magistrate, subject to prescribed conditions.
Officials said that these restrictions will remain in effect for two months or until further orders.
The order further states that any violation of the directive will invite legal action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Authorities have directed enforcement agencies to ensure strict implementation of the order across the district.
