In light of the upcoming Navratri and Eid-ul-Fitr festivals, the Udhampur district administration has increased efforts to regulate markets, maintain hygiene standards, and prevent overcharging.
As part of these efforts, a team led by the Tehsildar of Udhampur conducted inspections in the Udhampur market today. The administration has directed joint inspection drives involving officials from the Food Safety Department, Revenue Department, Police, and Legal Metrology to check product quality, ensure adherence to government-approved rates, and curb unfair trade practices.
During the inspections, special attention is being given to the quality of sweets and other edible items being sold in the market.
The initiative aims to ensure that the public can enjoy a safe, fair, and hassle-free festive season.
