Kathua, February 23: Quarter-final matches of the Open District Cricket Tournament, organized by the Kathua District Administration in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, were held across various subdivisions of the district.
In Billawar, Deccan Charges Billawar defeated A.K. Billawar at Playground Bhaddu. In Basohli, the host team Basohli won against Plassi at the Model Higher Secondary School ground. Team Bani secured victory over Backen at Government Degree College, Bani, while Hiranagar Cricket Club defeated Mukesh 11 Cricket Club in Hiranagar.
The tournament aims to promote sports as a means to positively engage youth and spread the message of a drug-free society. The winning teams will compete in the semi-finals at the Sports Stadium, Kathua, on February 25, 2026.
