
Udhampur, February 24: The District Rescue Team successfully rescued a child from forced labor in local shops and eateries. Led by the District Child Protection Officer, the child was provided temporary shelter at the Palaash Childcare Institute and presented to the Child Welfare Committee.
The operation involved the District Child Protection Unit, the Child Helpline (1098), the Labour Department, the Police, and medical staff. Businesses employing children have been booked under the Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act. The District Administration continues to conduct surprise inspections to enforce the Juvenile Justice Act.
