Trichy (Tamil Nadu), April 11 DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin on Saturday dubbed actor-politician Vijay as "Delhi's B team" and said the party candidate from Trichy East, Inigo S Irudayaraj, is the original "star" of the constituency, who is set to make a mark in this April 23 Assembly election.
Taking a dig at Vijay's decision to contest from this seat and also Perambur in Chennai, Udhayanidhi said, unlike the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founder, Irudayaraj is confident of winning from Trichy East hands down.
"Inigo is the star candidate here. He knows about the people's problems, but others don't. He is standing firmly on both legs here while others (Vijay) are standing on one leg here and another leg there," Udhayanidhi sarcastically remarked and added, "so, send Inigo to the assembly to take up your issues."
Addressing a poll rally here, the DMK youth wing secretary took a dig at the actor and said, "we are working without rest and without getting tired, but some take rest."
Likening Vijay to some traders who open shops to attract crowd during festival and later dismantle the shops and disappear, Udhayanidhi remarked, "Four months ago I said that it was cardboard cut-out. It has been proved now. It will disappear after elections."
He alleged that while the BJP, which has aligned with the AIADMK is Delhi's A team, Vijay's TVK is Delhi's B team, which was targeting the Trichy East constituency.
"No matter how teams emerge, the DMK is sure to win. Prove it in this election," Udhayanidhi urged the people.
