Trichy (Tamil Nadu), March 9 Ruling DMK president and Chief Minister M K Stalin on Monday alleged that a "saffron-colored group" wanted to "annex" the southern state, but asserted that his party would not allow it.
Addressing a large party conference here, he also launched a scathing attack against his rival, AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami, accusing him of becoming a "puppet" of the BJP in order to become Chief Minister.
Furthermore, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar set to step down, he said that the state had never had a BJP Chief Minister, and that after winning the elections by showcasing the JD (U) veteran, "they have now sidelined him".
A "saffron-colored group," clearly referring to the BJP, wants to "annex" Tamil Nadu. The CM asserted that the DMK would not allow this to happen.
To gain control of the state, the BJP was gradually "annexing" the AIADMK, he alleged.
