New Delhi, March 27 Aluminium prices continued their upward trend for the fifth consecutive session, rising by Rs 1.95 to Rs 338.10 per kilogram in futures trading on Friday, driven by firm trends in global markets.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for April delivery increased by Rs 1.95, or 0.58 percent, to Rs 338.10 per kilogram in a trading volume of 2,722 lots.

Analysts said that fresh positions taken by traders, amid a positive trend in global markets, supported the rise in aluminium prices.

Globally, aluminium prices increased by USD 21.05, or nearly 1 percent, to USD 3,270 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Market participants said that improved demand outlook and firm global cues largely influenced aluminium prices in the domestic market.
