Karimnagar (Telangana), April 3 A man is alleged to have killed his four-year-old twin daughters by drowning them in a well in a village in the Karimnagar district on Friday, police said.
The accused, a resident of Jubileenagar village, had been married for the past six years and the couple had twin daughters.
According to police, the couple had been experiencing frequent domestic disputes.
Preliminary inquiries suggest that the man took the children to an agricultural field and is suspected to have pushed them into a well, resulting in their drowning.
Acting on information, police teams launched a search operation and later recovered the bodies of the two children from the well.
Police have taken the accused into custody.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijaya Kumar visited the scene and supervised the investigation.
A heavy police presence has been deployed in the village to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain law and order.
The exact motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is underway, police added.
