
March 31, New Delhi – The Indian Navy has significantly enhanced its maritime capabilities with the induction of two advanced, domestically-built warships, highlighting India's growing self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
The Indian Navy completed the four-ship project at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE), Kolkata, by inducting the final Survey Vessel, Sanshodhak.
Designed with over 80% indigenous content, the vessel will conduct hydrographic surveys and collect oceanographic data.
The Navy also received the indigenous stealth frigate, Dunagiri, under Project 17-A, a major step towards self-reliance in warship-building.
Equipped with advanced weapons and sensors, the frigate enhances India's combat readiness and reflects the country's growing shipbuilding capability.
