Sonbhadra (UP), March 25 A 26-year-old woman died after her husband allegedly attacked her with an iron rod following a domestic dispute in the Sonbhadra district, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place late Tuesday night in Mahuabari village in the Bijpur area, they said, adding that the accused has been arrested, and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Circle Officer (CO) Harsh Pandey said police received information about a quarrel between Kanhaiya and his wife, Suman Devi, 26. During the altercation, the accused allegedly assaulted her with an iron rod, leaving her seriously injured.
She was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment, he said.
The officer said the accused, a resident of the Myorpur area here, had been living at his in-laws' house.
Further legal proceedings are underway, he said.
