DP&AR Minister Addresses Concerns Over Deputy Commissioner Language.webp

Minister for Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Training (DP&AR), Pu K. Sapdanga, has stated that there are no plans to revive the Mizoram Subordinate Services Selection Board (MSSSB).

Speaking during a question-and-answer session in the Assembly, Pu K. Sapdanga stated that the MPSC oversees recruitment for Group B (non-gazetted) posts and above, while individual government departments are responsible for recruiting candidates to Group C and Group D posts. He added that since December 2025, question papers for departmental recruitment examinations have been set by the MPSC, describing the move as a positive and transparent practice.

Responding to a supplementary question, the Minister also addressed concerns over the posting of Deputy Commissioners who do not speak Mizo. He acknowledged that such appointments can create difficulties for local residents. To address the issue, he said the DP&AR is taking steps similar to those adopted in other states by initiating language training for junior IAS officers who are willing to be posted in districts.
